Why premium websites feel faster before they are faster

A fast site is partly a technical achievement and partly an interaction promise. Immediate input feedback, stable layout, restrained motion, and well-timed reveals all tell the visitor that the interface is keeping up.

The useful distinction is between measured speed and felt speed. We need both. Performance budgets protect measured speed; deliberate sequencing protects felt speed.

A portfolio should make your role visible

A beautiful case study can still be unhelpful when the reader cannot tell what you actually did. Good portfolio writing names the problem, the contribution, the decisions, and the result without turning the page into a process diary.

Show the final experience generously. Then use a few precise details to make the thinking and your part in it easy to understand.

When WebGL earns its place

Three-dimensional interaction should create spatial understanding, atmosphere, or a genuinely memorable way to explore content. If it only makes a familiar pattern harder to use, it is decoration carrying production risk.

The right test is simple: remove the effect. If the idea loses meaning, WebGL may be essential. If only the spectacle disappears, the interface probably needs a stronger concept first.
