Commerce Discovery Search replaces heavy, cloud-dependent search plugins with a lightweight, self-hosted solution that builds and queries a local index directly inside WordPress. Instant predictive results — up to 8 product suggestions with images, price, and availability — using a debounced overlay sheet. Desktop and mobile overlay variants are in scope; staged WordPress/WooCommerce/Safari validation remains required before release.

Zero-Downtime Shadow Indexing

Versioned database tables with shadow rebuilds, validation, and atomic activation. Product updates sync automatically via Action Scheduler.

Multi-Tier Match Pipeline

Exact SKU → exact title → title prefix → token prefix → bounded typo matching. Polish diacritic folding with original display spelling preserved.

CURRENT LIMITATIONS

What this version does not do yet.

These are known constraints documented in the project's limitation file. They represent honest boundaries of the current 0.1.0-alpha release.

Catalog size＋

Candidate retrieval is capped at 500 products. Stores with larger catalogs require benchmarking or a future engine adapter.

Single language＋

The default index stores one language per product. Parallel multilingual indexing is not supported in this version.

No search analytics＋

No dashboard reporting of popular queries, zero-result terms, or click-through rates.

No RTL support＋

Interface layout assumes left-to-right scripts only.

No multisite＋

Current 0.1 scope is single-site.
